First they came for the Communists,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I wasn’t a Communist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I wasn’t a Jew.
Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I was a Protestant.
Then they came for me,
and by that time there was no one
left to speak up for me.

Lincoln Quote
You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away people’s initiative and independence.
You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves.

Jonathan Livingston Seagull
The story of Jonathan Livingston Seagull
Just revisited this story tonight. Glad that I did According to Netflix: Inspired by Richard Bach’s best-selling novella, this live-action family drama features a Grammy-winning score by Neil Diamond and follows the quest of a young seagull named Jonathan who longs to transcend the boundaries of his flock. Despite the fact that Bach ultimately sued the producers for not staying faithful to his story, the film went on to earn two Academy Award nominations for editing and cinematography.
I enjoyed watching it with Jamie and the music by Neil Diamond. Looked at it differently this time after reading the book over 30 years ago… This clip is nice because it is a shortened version.
Celtic Work Blessing
May the light of your soul guide you.
May the light of your soul bless the work that you do
with the secret love and warmth of your heart.
May you see in what you do the beauty of your own soul.
May the sacredness of your work bring healing, light and renewal to those who work with you
and to those who see and receive your work.
May your work never weary you.
May it release within you wellsprings of refreshment, inspiration and excitement.
May you be present in what you do.
May you never become lost in bland absences.
May the day never burden.
May dawn find you awake and alert,
approaching your new day with dreams, possibilities and promises.
May evening find you gracious and fulfilled.
May you go into the night blessed, sheltered and protected.
May your soul calm, console and renew you.
