I think all teachers should see this and ponder it as they prepare for each day’s lessons. Personally, I find this motivational and affirming. What do you think?

Skywriter
peace without peace within
the ink is wearing thin,
blotches on the face of my destiny
i’m the rainbow drooling over a land of creeping shadow
and something i know
is something i will forget
before the next rain
smears my words into blue ruin.

Jonathan Livingston Seagull
The story of Jonathan Livingston Seagull
Just revisited this story tonight. Glad that I did According to Netflix: Inspired by Richard Bach’s best-selling novella, this live-action family drama features a Grammy-winning score by Neil Diamond and follows the quest of a young seagull named Jonathan who longs to transcend the boundaries of his flock. Despite the fact that Bach ultimately sued the producers for not staying faithful to his story, the film went on to earn two Academy Award nominations for editing and cinematography.
I enjoyed watching it with Jamie and the music by Neil Diamond. Looked at it differently this time after reading the book over 30 years ago… This clip is nice because it is a shortened version.

Shutter & Shanghaied Theater by erin-cilberto
The author (erin-cilberto) has provided 2 versions of this poem…
Shutter
blistered dreams,
festered photography
black and white movies in sleep mode
credits roll to dawn
popcorn driven madness
infects the reel,
screen turns chameleon invisible
lights go up
soda pop preencox
winks at discourse
delusions of a pillowed fancy
cross the aisle
of absoluteness
into a lobby of doubt
someone yells “Cut”
and the dandy at the concession stand
hides the napkins
so the theatre won’t get shut down
and we can all be ourselves again.
