Becomming an Ambassador
Thursday I participated in 6 more hours of training as a LOC Ambassador… Learned a lot more!
Educators may become Library of Congress Ambassadors if they have engaged in extensive TPS training. The activities of the Library of Congress Ambassadors will include the following:
- Serving at the school, school district, or state level with the Teaching with Primary Sources Program or mentor other educators.
- Presenting their exemplary Teaching with Primary Sources products to consortium members and at educational conferences, with an emphasis on state level opportunities.
- Reviewing additional content for the Library of Congress Web site for teachers.

Mini Golf
Friday night I played mini golf for the first time in many years… It was actually fun! Liz won 1st place; Grace and I tied for second; Jamie was third and Bob forth… We shared the course with the cicadas.
Maribeth is participating in the AAM/TPS Alumni training this week
I attended an all day session today and learned about the changes to the LOC and AAM and TPS sites. Here are some of the links I explored today.

I also learned about the new Visual Ranking Tools website:
Einstein’s Theory of Relativity Explained
The Einstein Theory of Relativity is a silent film released in 1923 that was intended to teach the public about Einstein’s new theory. Despite its age, the video still provides an excellent explanation that is easy to understand.
A favorite poem
Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening
By Robert Frost
Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
